Competition for the campus extension. UIMP,
The campus project understands itself as the physical expression of knowledge networks. The buildings are not merely volumes to be raised but are understood as a material mechanism for generating communication. A place to share experience and exchange knowledge.
At an urban scale, the project resolves the "isolation" of the existing institution in relationship to the valley and the large green space of the slope. The new buildings create connections between existing buildings and the large urban park below. The project reconciles and integrates the institution of the university with the urban fabric.
The proposed communicative structures create a series of open spaces for exchange (both formal and informal) at a human scale.
Unlike the existing structures, the new buildings are not exempt but integrated into the landscape. The new topography enhances the pedestrian circulation within the campus and connects the site with the Park of the LLamas.
